The Chop

Well today we ventured out. This time on a mission to get rid of the mop tops, or at least tidy them up just a little. I booked in at a place called Icon. Pretty swanky looking number, with prices to match no doubt but we've scored ourselves a card that gives us 10% off which is something. So booked in with a lovely senior stylist Jon was I.

Meanwhile I (Ry) went for a wander down the road to try and find myself a slightly less upmarket venue, with prices to match too. Unfortunately the one I liked the look of was almost identical in price to Mez's. But then I had walked around long enough. And lets be honest, while a bargain hunter I may be, I have this pardoxical element in my personality which gives not a damn for cost at other times. Especially not when vanity is concerned. Ok. So perhaps that's what it is. It's not one of the seven deadly ones is it? I'll call it a healthy pride in one's appearance.

So clearly i now look as sexy as a squirrel and am gonna have to fight mez off. That's assuming she likes the look of Sonic the hedgehog of course. Who was sexy (for a cartoon)... wasn't he? She gave me the nod though, so i think all is sweet for this hog. 'wink'.

Meanwhile back at Icon the lovely hairstylist Jon has a wee chat to me about "what we're going to do for you today" i hate that question. Hairstylist probably hate asking it to people like me too. I always would like something new, something different but then there's only so much new and different to be done with hair like mine.

So we get talking, he plays with my hair having a look at it and he came to the conclusion that, and I quote "we get rid of this ducks ass"!!!!! Far out I knew i needed it cut but as for looking like a ducks ass... SURELY that was taking it a bit far! Red faced as i was i agreed and he set to work. Very thorough, (...almost too thorough as i didn't get out of there for an hour and a half later) and i'm happy with result, feel i got my pounds worth especially as the head massage was fantastic!

So happy mopless campers are we!

Tuesday night is date night which is all good. Usually involves a movie, though tonight we're headed for a bit of culture - 'Festen' is a new play (at the Theatre Royal) that has achieved rave reviews wherever it's been and won awards for best new play... Might buy a programme though this time, so that we're aware of what is happening. Hope this one is in english! Will let you know!

Well Festen certainly was festen. A bit disturbing a storyline really as it was about a family that gather for their fathers 60th birthday and the oldest son reads his speach and reveals to all present that he and his sister who has since committed suicide were abused at the hands of their father as children. Hmm not exactly enjoyable entertainment really. Acting I (mez) thought was average and due to the storyline we found ourselves coming away feeling disturbed more than entertained. It made you think for sure but depressing, sad thoughts rather than inspiring ones. Hopefully we'l pick something a little more uplifting next time.
