Lady of Leisure no more...
Today finally my prayers were answered!
This week God has reminded me once again that he has a sense of humour. I prayed yesterday that the phone would ring. By this I knew I meant that it would ring and there would be some lovely person at the other end telling me that they would like me to work for them. God being God I thought he'd do a bit of mind reading and realise this was what I meant but obviously not...
For the phone to ring in our house is something special. We don't get too many phone calls and so to be honest when it does ring it's usually quite an exciting occasion. And so yesterday the phone rang, quite a few times in fact. Both the cell phone AND the land line. But at the other end wasn't the person I wanted it to be.
So this morning I got specific, not leaving room for any games.
Well what do you know? Lo and behold today the cell phone rang and there was a lovely nurse at the other end named Jan and she said she was wondering if I would like to come and be a part of their team because they would very much like it if I did!
WOOHOOO! ZIPIDY DOODA!
THANK YOU GOD!
A lady of leisure no longer. The baking marathons will subside. The quiet days will cease. The sleep-ins will be reduced to two days a week rather than seven. The house will get cleaned weekly rather than daily. Dinner may find it's way to the table every once in a while. I will no longer be able to spend hours at the library ready Hello! magazines.
Do I care to put the lady of leisure to rest? Not one bit!
I could not be more excited about this job if I tried. Nurse Mez is BACK!
Ready to share the love, care for the sick, comfort the dying and bring a smile to those who are down. This is my vocation, I think I've realised that over the last four months without work. There is something about being a nurse and caring for others that blesses my life and I'm so ready to be back doing what I enjoy.
Big THANKS to you all for your support and endless encouragement over the last few months. For your prayers, your thoughts, your good luck wishes. We have appreciated them all.
Blessing and love
Nurse Mez (and Mr Mo)
